As a professional musician Malcolm Kirby Jr has performed and recorded with many great musicians such as Fred Wesley, Lenny Castro, Kenny Wolleson, Tommy Campbell, Marcus Printup, Shelly Berg, Steve Gadd, John Medeski, Sam Newsome, The Campbell Brothers, Terrence Howard, Ben Monder, Bernard Purdie, Will Bernard, Satoshi Takeishi, Eric Kalb, Josh Roseman, Meg Okura’s PACJE, Tony Mason, Clay Jenkins, Toshi Nagai, Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth, The Respect Sextet, Jamie Mclean and many others.
Malcolm has composed music for film such as “Cop Out”, “The Love Guru”, “Brooklyn’s Finest”, “Forever Strong”, and t.v. shows such as “CSI”, “Numb3rs”, “Pimp My Ride”, “Medium”, “Law and Order” and video games such as “NBA STREET 4”, “Don King’s PRIZEFIGHTER”. As a co-founder of 456inc, he has done work for Fox TV, ESPN, VH1, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, MTV, Electronic Arts, CBS and many others. He also continues to enjoy mixing albums for a diverse array of bands and artists in NYC and beyond.
